The Most Googled DJs in the world

With 7,762,860 Google searches, it is no surprise that David Guetta snatched the top spot as most searched for DJ around the world.
In the decades that the French DJ has been in the game, his success has been off the charts, totalling more than 10 billion streams on YouTube and Spotify combined. Guetta was also voted number one DJ in the world by DJ Magazine in 2020, after winning the title once before back in 2011.
In fact, David Guetta ranks first for 19 countries, and in the top three for all countries listed below, with the exception of the United Kingdom and the United States. In the UK, English DJ and producer, Fatboy Slim, takes the top spot, with Scotsman, Calvin Harris, in second followed by David Guetta. The US’s favourite is Calvin Harris, beating American DJ Bassnectar and Canadian producer Deadmau5 to first place.

Starting out in his Scottish hometown of Dumfries, Calvin Harris (real name Adam Richard Wiles), has certainly made a global impact, as he is the second most searched for DJ around the world. He started his career back in 2002, gaining success with his album ‘I Created Disco’ in 2007, and has since won countless awards for his music. Currently Calvin Harris is releasing music under the alias Love Generator.
Sweeping up a handful of the remaining top spots, including in his home country of the Netherlands, our third place DJ is Martin Garrix. The Dutch DJ first entered the scene back in 2012 at only 14 years old. Now just 25, Martin Garrix has 26.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has scored a space in the top five of DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs poll for seven consecutive years.
Afrojack beats Excision into fourth place, with just shy of 3 million searches. The Dutch DJ has been active since 2007 and has 75 singles. He married Elettra Lamborghini in 2020, granddaughter of the founder of sports car manufacturer Lamborghini.
With 2.5 million searches, Canadian DJ Excision takes fifth. Excision, whose real name is Jeff Abel, started in the game back in 2006 at just 20 years old. He has since gone on to found multiple record labels, including Rottun Recordings, Destroid Music, and most recently in 2020, Subsidia Records.

David Guetta takes first place in eight of the ten cities in which our hotels are located, with London being the only city in which he didn’t rank at all. Instead, Calvin Harris stole the hearts of London, with Fatboy Slim and Martin Garrix following in second and third.
A mix of Harris, Garrix and Guetta fill the remaining top three spots for each city, with the exception of Afrojack pipping David Guetta to first in Milan whilst Italian group Eiffel 65 takes bronze, and Belgian DJ Basto winning 3rd place in Madrid.
